How “The Offer” Reminded Me of a Valuable Life Lesson

A VALUABLE LIFE LESSON REMINDER COURTESY OF “THE OFFER” FROM PARAMOUNT+

If you know me or you’ve followed me long enough, you shouldn’t be surprised that I’m a huge fan of “The Godfather.” It’s my favorite movie by far. So, when Paramount+ unveiled its series “The Offer” (which tells the story of the making of “The Godfather” through the eyes of its producer Albert Ruddy), I knew I’d be tuning in.

One would think that I’d be using the show to demonstrate the values of hustle, loyalty, and resiliency – all part and parcel to the Go Get It way.

That’s low-hanging fruit…Of course.

But at 6:45am on a Friday with my apartment and neighborhood quiet, my wife adjacent to me on her couch and me in my dad chair…and our 15 year old dog sleeping at our feet…it was at that moment when “The Offer” was playing on the DVR, that I was reminded once again of what is truly important in my entrepreneurial and life journey.

QUALITY. TIME. LEFT.

Not trips to exotic places on luxurious airlines. . .

Not gourmet meals in posh restaurants. . .

Not showcasing expensive toys or trinkets. . .

Not boasting monthly revenues on social media. . .

I take pride that I can afford NOT to share those things.

I can reflect and embrace on the currency that has the greatest value.

The calm and simplicity of those uninterrupted minutes with family. . .

It’s an offer I can’t refuse. . .and I’m thankful that I’m in a position to never have to again.
