VOICE TALENT!
Read this with me in your best Aussie Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin voice. . .
Crikey! There’s new and growing species in the voiceover world!
It’s called the genre-hop-a-lup-a-gus.The genre-hop-a-lup-a-gus is a nomadic breed, rarely occupying the same territory for a sustained period of time.
This transience is commonly attached to a lack of immediate success in one of the main voiceover categories like commercial or narration, so the genre-hop-a-lup-a-gus drifts or “hops” to another more niche genre like TV promo or automotive, hoping they will fare better.
The hopping is also typically associated with an inordinate amount of time and resource squandering with producing new demos and participating in additional coaching sessions.
